As we’re moving closer to the end of the year, I would like to share with you 30 affirmations to help you achieve your goals. Your goals don’t have to be some New Years’ resolution or a bold one. While it can be that, affirmations are necessary when you’re trying to shift your mindset.

The benefit of affirmations

Every year, I struggle with relationships. As you can see, my blog is all about singleness because I believe that being single is beneficial, and it’s a stage that we shouldn’t ignore. However, as I started my 2020, I realized that there was some unfinished business that I had to face this year.

So, life made it happen. I went through therapy, and I shared my experience with you in these two blog posts: How Counselling Can Improve Your Mental Health., and How counselling helped me build resilience. I faced my parents because they were part of my healing process. I gave a third chance to love and be in a romantic relationship.

Some of them went well, and some couldn’t last. However, I am most grateful for all of the life experiences that I got amid a pandemic. Now, what do affirmations have to do with any of this?

When I started my 2020, I had printed the Four Agreement as affirmations in my room. If you didn’t read this fantastic book yet, I highly encourage you to do so. It’s a concise book that teaches you how to live life.

I had “I am impeccable with my words,” “I don’t take anything personally,” “I don’t make assumptions,” and “I always do my best.” Believe it or not, I had every opportunity to practice these four affirmations that you get from the book. Looking back now, I realized that our words are prayers; the more you repeat it, the more it will come true.

So what’s the real benefit of affirmations?

Oprah Winfrey said, “I don’t pray for patience anymore because God will send me into situations that I will have to practice patience.” That’s exactly how I felt about my affirmations. I believe that you will encounter people that will make you practice the affirmation “I don’t take anything personally” because that is precisely what had happened to me.

So, the real benefit of affirmation is that it helps you become the person you want to be. As you repeat them day and night, your brain registers the information, and your subconscious mind gets rewired.

Change your mindset to get the full benefit of your affirmations.

As you rewire your brain, you have to know that you will have limited beliefs. You will think that it might be impossible for you to become what you say. You might repeat the affirmations day and night, but if you don’t believe it, it just won’t work.

The thing with affirmations is that you have to put emotions, faith and actions into it. There’s a purpose behind it. Therefore, if you often have doubts about yourself, you must change that.

I wrote this blog post How I changed my mindset in 3 small steps, you can read the post, and it might help you. However, you need to figure out how you can start believing in yourself. You might need a coach or someone to keep you accountable.

What I’m talking about is the faith that you have in yourself. You need, it’s necessary, to believe in yourself more than you trust anyone else.
